Maternity Pics 38.5 weeks!

A couple of nights ago I started going in labor (or so I thought).  I went to bed around 10:30-11 and could feel a few contractions.  By 11:30 I started feeling cramping in my legs and back each time I had a contraction, just like when I went into labor with Sailyr.  They were consistent, and strong enough that I could not sleep.  Around 1:30 they were getting stronger and lasting a minute, they were also anywhere between 2 and 5 min apart.  I was starting to get nervous, so I woke Devin up and then got up and pack my bag for the hospital.  I told Devin to go back to sleep and I would wake him up again if I though we needed to go to the hospital.  My hopes were that I could wait until morning so that I would not have to take the kids to the neighbors.   I tried to lay back down, but could not sleep... so I got up and cleaned the house a little bit.  I even called the hospital and told them what was going on and checked to make sure they had room for me.  Around 4:30 I was so exhausted.... I had not slept at all.  So I went back in to lay down.  And finally fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning and still felt some contractions.  They were not as consistent but they were happening.  So I just decided to wait it out and see what happens.  I was so sore, I'm not sure if its because of the all night long contractions, but my goodness my mid-section and upper thighs were so sore.  I also felt like the baby dropped, she felt heavy and it was a little bit painful.  I was also not feeling well.  The hospital called me and suggested I go get checked by my doctor just to see if I had made any progress.  Which I had gone from a 2 to a 3 and was 50%.   All that pain... just to go from a 2 to a 3....... but I guess it was something.  I was in pain the rest of the day, but was told to come back if contractions pick back up and get painful.

Well, here we are.... 2 days later.... and its all just simmered away.  I feel normal and I'm not feeling any contractions, except for the normal Braxton hicks in the evenings.  I was really thinking baby was on her way... but I have a feeling she will stay put until the 16th when they induce me.   This week is actually quite busy with Preschool graduation and last dance recitals... so I'm ok with her staying put until after Thursday or so.

The girls are really excited!  The morning after all the contractions Devin told the girls to let me rest so that I would not be tired when it was time for me to have the baby.  So they went outside and played with the neighbor kids.  About an hour later Fin came in and climbed up on the bed and said "Mom, have you had your baby yet?!"

And Sailyr screamed "Leaping Lizards!!!"  when I told her we were going to the doctor to see if the baby was ready to come out.  (we have been watching lots of Little Orphan Annie, which is where she heard it)

They were both a little disappointed when we left the doctors office with no baby in tow.
But soon enough....

Anyway.  Tonight Devin took a few maternity pics for me up at the apple orchard.
He also played Mr. Mom all day to give me a mothers day break!
He did a good job, and he is even nice to me when I complain all day about being as big as a house.

Getting the nursury ready!

We are officially ready to bring baby sister home.
Last weekend I washed all of her clothes and blankets.
We all sat and giggled at how tiny the newborn clothes are, and the girls would hold little jammies up to themselves to see how tiny they used to be.
The girls were in a frenzy the whole time I was working.  Sailyr loved everything and just wanted to look at and fold and put everything in its place.  She was a good help.
Finley would sneak in and out of the room stealing baby clothes to go try on her baby dolls.  I had to go in and get back about half of the stuff that I just washed.  I finally just gave her a few of the older outfits that I probably wont use, just to try and keep the other stuff safe.
I hauled up her bassinet from the basement and took it all apart to wash it.  And while I was putting it back together the bottom piece that baby lays on broke.  So I got on Amazon and ordered her a wicker Moses basket.  Its super cute and quaint, and I would be lying if I did not say it will be perfect prop for pictures.  It came in the mail yesterday and its now set up in the baby's room... with about 6 stuffed animals and baby dolls sleeping in it.  :)
Corrine also made baby 2 new blankets that will be well used, they are in her crib and are "officially off limits to any and all baby dolls!"  We will see how long that lasts.

This is what baby's room really looks like....

Baby dolls tucked in everywhere there is a soft surface.
They need to move out!

37 weeks!

37 Weeks today!

The past week I found myself eating crazy amounts of junk food.  So I grounded myself and the past two days have refrained from sugar.  Its actually been easier than I thought it would be mentally, but the problem is I am hungry all day long.  So finding healthy snacks to eat (instead of just grabbing a sugary treat) has been tricky.

Baby is big!  And her movements are big!  She is in my ribs and down at my hip bones all at the same time.  She moves around a lot!  Its amazing to feel, but getting uncomfortable. Its also a bit funny to watch my tummy go crazy.

I don't think I have been nesting.... although I have been throwing everything away!  Last week I took a big trash bag and went downstairs and threw away about 1/4 of the girls toys.  I have tried to do this in the past and I could not make myself get rid of hardly anything.  Well- at 37 weeks pregnant nothing is safe!  I did not even put it in a D.I. pile, I walked right outside and put it in the dumpster.  Then last night I finally hauled a few bins of baby clothes and baby blankets upstairs, I did the same thing.  I had a huge pile that should have gone to D.I. (old blankets and stained clothes) and I just tossed them in the trash.  I know its wasteful, but it feels so great to toss things in the trash!

Still no name for baby.  We have a little list with a few names, we might have to just wait until we see her to name her.

If my doctor induces me early then that means baby could be here in 2 weeks!!!  I cant even wrap my head around that!  It is crazy that I am almost finished with my 3rd pregnancy.

The girls are getting so excited!  Finley always comes up to me and says "I'm going to give your baby a hug and a kiss, and then I'm going to give you a hug and a kiss", then she kisses and hugs my tummy then kisses and hugs me!  Its the sweetest!!   And Sailyr- she just can not wait!  She hugs my tummy all the time and loves to ask how many more days.

36 weeks

36 weeks today!
Bending over is getting harder, as well as getting my shoes and socks on.
I absolutely hate wearing jeans, I just cant get comfortable in them.
I also must admit that I am craving sugar like crazy!  I want to live off of candy and ice ream right now.
I'm getting nervous for 3 kids.  The thought of grocery shopping with all 3 of them seems not possible.  Especially since just taking Sailyr and Finley to the grocery store seems to take all day and always ends in one of them throwing a fit.
The past two nights Finley has finally started sleeping all night again.  I hope we can keep on this track so that I'm not up with 2 kids at night soon.

I cant believe we are on the last 4 weeks!
Last week while we were at Target Sailyr said to me "mom, maybe we should buy some binkies and some lotion for our baby".  Honestly, I don't know how she knew to say that, I think an angel whispered it in her ear or something.  I was like "You are right.  We probably should get some baby lotion and a couple binkies".   She will be here so soon, and I am just now thinking about stocking up on baby stuff.  I need to wash her clothes and bring up her bassinette, but its just not seeming real yet.

35 weeks.

35 weeks today.
Baby is just over 5 pounds.
(and she feels like she is that big)
Her movements are big and long, and when she kicks it rocks my entire mid section.
She gets over in my side as well as up to my ribs.
She is finally getting hiccups!  I probably feel them almost every day.  She has only been getting them for about 2 weeks now.  With Sailyr and Finley I felt hiccups much earlier so I was wondering if this baby would get them.
Having to get up at least twice a night to go potty.
Still sleeping ok.
Starting to dream about going into labor.
Having contractions in the evening, its funny to see my tummy get super tight and dis-figured.
You can almost see where her little bum and legs are.
At my last appointment they talked about inducing me a week early.
It was not my regular doctor I was seeing that day, so I don't know what to think about it....
Also a week early would be on Friday the 13th... not sure what to think about that either.
My regular doctor will be back in 3 weeks or so, so I will know better after that.
After all that inducing talk I got freaked out and went and bought a box of newborn diapers.
Still no official name for her.

(I tried to get Sailyr to come be in the picture with us, but she was having much to fun being the photographer.  She did a good job!  She even told me this morning that she told her teacher she wanted to be a photographer when she grows up)

Week 30

Yay!!!  We are in the 30s!
Only 10 more to go!

I am now going into dr. apps every 2 weeks.
Last time I went in they did the glucose test.
My blood came back low in iron (I could have told them that..)
So I am now on Iron supplements and with that comes fiber supplements.
They also told me my tummy is measuring a little bit small, but I think I remember them telling me that with Finley as well.

Baby is getting strong!  Sometimes I can see her kicking out of the corner of my eye.
Girls love to sing and talk to her because she will start moving around.

This is really such a precious time.
In the evenings I get super stiff and sore, and tired and grumpy.
But usually during the day I appreciate and enjoy being pregnant.

I told Devin the other day "I am just so excited for a little baby!! I don't know if I have ever been this excited before!"
His reply was "Ya, because your going to photograph the crap out of her!"

True that!

23 weeks

Sailyr loves taking pictures, so the other day I let her take a couple tummy pictures for me.  The fact that these are even in focus is amazing... so I was pretty impressed.

Here is a 23 week update:

-Feeling better!  Got some energy back!  And I can actually keep up with my house again.

- Craving Breakfast foods, and berries (strawberries and raspberries), also salad.  Dinner foods sound awful to me.

- Feeling bigger.  Most of my skinny jeans that I could fit into with Sailyr and Finley are feeling a little tight, and I defiantly can not button the button up anymore.  I've been just wearing leggings, and only putting on jeans when its a must.  Still fitting into normal clothes... but my box of maternity clothes in my closet keeps calling my name.

- super uncomfortable at night.  My hips started aching super early, and I wake up in the middle of the night to turn over and they are just on fire.

- Baby gets really active around 8 pm every night, its fun to feel baby move, finally!  With the placenta in the front I did not get to feel all those early 1st trimester movements.  Sailyr loves to come sit by me and feel baby move.

- Finley comes up to me probably 3 times a day and gives baby a kiss and a hug.  She used to have the baby named Mia, but she has changed her mind and now she wants to name her Rosie.

- Heart burn seems to have calmed down a little, but I've also been not eating greasy foods.

- We just have to get through Feb, March, and April.... then it will be baby month!  (this is my thinking to make it seem like I don't still have forever......)

Baby #3, Pink or Blue?!?

We are having a GIRL!!!

I just kind of knew it deep down...
There were no tears in the ultrasound room, although Sailyr was a little disappointed that she would not be getting a brother.  If Devin is disappointed then he his hiding it well.  I even asked him if he was disappointed and he laughed and repeated Sailyr's saying "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit".   They go over every square inch of the baby in that ultrasound, and everything looks great!  We are thankful for a healthy baby!  And look, she already sucks her thumb, she will fit right in! :)

Christmas Program!

Tonight was Sailyr's preschool Christmas program!  She has been coming home singing songs and doing little dances to them for a good month, so I was excited to go and see what they had been working on.  She was so cute! She sat right in the front and was such a good girl the whole time.  She kept looking over at us and smiling or giggling.

She came home from preschool today and was super serious and said "mom!!  I think Santa is coming to our preschool program tonight."  I could see that look of death in her eyes, so I just told her that she does not have to sit on his lap, and just don't even worry about it!  I had to tell her that about 15 times - that we would not make her sit on his lap, we will just ignore him.

At the end of the program Santa walked in and all the kids cheered... Sailyr looked up at us and then gave a fake little cheer.  Then the teacher said, do you want to go sit on santa's lap?  And while all the kids cheered, Sailyr shook her head no and yelled "No!".  The other kids ran over and lined up in front of him, and she ran up to us in the bleachers.

Finley was ok with sitting on his lap so I went and got in line with her.  Devin had to leave for scouts about 15 min before we got to Santa so Sailyr had to come stand in line with us.  She could see her teacher sitting next to Santa and handing out candy.  So I told her that if she just stood by me she would probably get some candy.  When it was our turn she ran and sat on the bleachers while I put Finley on his lap.  Some how her teacher coaxed her over and she ran and gave her a hug....

OUR FIRST SANTA PICTURE WITHOUT TEARS!!!!!!!!!!
And Ms Thompson is the best, cant you tell Sailyr just loves her!

Fin was really brave and told Santa she wanted a lalaloopsie doll.  She even smiled for a picture.  And on the way to our car she said "I like Santa!"

Sailyr was ok, and happy she got her candy.  But she still is not a fan!

Here is a little video of Sailyr playing the bells....

Also, I had my 16 week check up today.  Heart beat sounded good!  We are finding out that this baby is a girl on Jan 4th!
:) haha!!
Unless you talk to Sailyr... then she will tell you its a boy.
Either way we are excited!

15.5 weeks

I took a few picture today to help announce our spring baby.  Tomorrow I will be 16 weeks!  Which means I am in my 2nd trimester.  The first 15 weeks were crazy long, but now that they are over it seems like it went by fast.  I'm still in survival mode. But slowly feeling better in the evenings and I'm not hungry 24/7, I also have a bit more energy.  But I feel myself becoming socially awkward... which seems to happen to me when I'm preg.  By the end I am just a hermit that hardly talks when I'm out in public and I cling to Devin like he is my lifeline.  Being pregnant is so weird.

My kids about kill me every day.  I need to lighten up a bit, especially with it being Christmas time.  I hate feeling like a grumpy mom, but like I said... Its all about just surviving. :)  I'm making this sound like this baby is sucking the life out of me, which is not true.  Its been my easiest pregnancy so far... but chasing 2 little monkeys around while being pregnant is a whole new world for me.

By about 4 p.m. everyday I start to feel like I am 8 months pregnant instead of 4.  I get stiff and sore and its hard to move, and my tummy gets bigger and hurts a little bit.  At night my hips get sore from laying on my sides and it hurts to turn over.  I'm starting to think food sounds good again, but I'm not craving anything.

I'm so thankful for the 3 babies I've been given.  I get scared when I think of what a challenge it is raising children in such a broken world.  But I have hope that my children will be a light in the dark. Being a mom is the most exhausting thing I have ever done.  And I am a little nervous for what the work load with 3 kids will look like.  But with that I am learning to forget about myself and realize its not about me.  I've been reminded recently, that family (biological or not) is really the most important thing and its worth all the work.

Thankful for baby!

Yesterday after church I had a few of the ladies from the primary presidency come up to me and tell me that Sailyr got called on to come up to the front during sharing time and tell what she was thankful for.

"I'm thankful for the baby in my mommy's tummy"

Most of the people at church had not heard yet, so they all came up to congratulate me.  I think Sailyr has told probably 95% of the people that know about our baby.  I'm starting to show more and more now, so I'm sure its pretty obvious.  But I think it is so sweet that Sailyr is so excited for our baby.  Finley is excited too, and has told a lady that comes to buy eggs from us and one of my picture clients.  Its funny because Finley never dares speak to strangers, but she is brave enough to tell them about our baby!
This baby will be very loved.

Sailyr has also asked me if we can have another baby after I have this baby.
And she also said "I hope its a boy, because girls just fight with me".

12 weeks

I had my 12 week appointment today, and this little baby gave us a little scare.

When the doctor came in he could not find the babies heart beat.  So he sent for me to get an ultrasound.  The first ultrasound we had at 8 weeks it took at least 30 min to get me in, today I bet I waited like 5 min.  So just from that alone I could tell my doctor was nervous, then he walked into the ultrasound room with me and sat down next to me.  Now I was really starting to panic!

But baby was fine, it was moving all over and even had the hiccups.  The placenta is on top of the baby, and the baby is laying in a funky position so that is why we were not getting a heart beat.  My doctor said that even when the placenta is on top, I'm thin enough that he should have been able to find the heart beat... so he was nervous.  He also said that I probably wont feel the baby move until sometime between 16-20 weeks because of the placement of everything.  So not to worry too much if I don't feel it as early as I did with the girls.

I was relieved.  I could almost feel tears surfacing as I started to prepare myself for bad news.  So we lucked out today.

And..... the ultrasound tech distinctly called the baby "Him" the entire time.  "Here is his legs", "Here is his heartbeat", "here is his spine".  I kind of picked up on it and just figured she was not realizing what she was saying.... and then right when we were leaving she said "I hope you get a little boy!".    And now I'm wondering if she saw something on the ultrasound that led her to believe it was a boy... or if she just said that because she saw that I had two little girls...  Either way she almost has me convinced its a boy.  I thought it was a girl this whole time... but she has me confused!

Not to mention, Sailyr woke up in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago and was asking for the baby.  I tried giving her her baby doll, but she said "No! I want the baby!" (She was totally out of it)  I asked her if it was our baby in my tummy and she said yes.  I asked her if she had just had a dream about our new baby and she said yes.  So of course I snuck in one last question before she fell back asleep.... was it a boy or a girl?  A boy.  And off to sleep she went again.

???  I guess we will wait and see.  We will find out in about 6-7 more weeks.
I've always thought we would have a house full of girls... so I'm not sure what I think.

#3

Ok, so I have been meaning to write this post for a week now, and I just keep putting it off.  Its time to get on with life on this blog so lets just announce that BABY #3 is on its way! And get on with it already!

:)

Around the first of the summer Devin started talking about having another baby.  I would look up from the tornado of the two kids that I was already chasing with the most confused look on my face and say... "really?!?"

We had talked about trying to have our next baby in the spring to avoid being pregnant in the summer and just to spread out birthdays.  But for some reason this was seeming too soon.  I kept trying to put it off, being pregnant seemed horrible, and adding one more kid seemed crazy (I'm a wimp).  But I knew he was right.  We want more than 2 children in our family so we cant wait forever.  I kept trying to put it out of my mind, but it kept knocking at my heart.

So the end of August/ first of September I went into get a blood test.  I was like 5 days late, but all the home pregnancy tests kept saying negative.  It was driving me crazy!  A day or so later we got the call that it was positive.

We did not tell the kids for about 6 weeks.  And within those 6 weeks Sailyr started drawing pictures of our family but with 3 kids instead of 2.  She would run up to me with her picture and show me "Daddy and Mommy and Sailyr and Finley... and this is the baby that is coming to our family".  It was crazy!  Then one day I saw her taping this picture to the fridge....

I asked her what it was and she said it was her and the brother that is coming to our family, and they are standing next to a tree.

The day of my first ultrasound we told the kids there was a baby in mommy's tummy and we were going to go see a picture of it on a tv.  They were so excited!  Sailyr was super excited! She just kept asking about it and talking about how big my tummy was going to get.

So here is the first look at our new baby. (sorry its sideways)  This was at 8 weeks.

We are super excited for a new little one to join our family in the spring!  My due date is May 20th... which seems like 400 years away.  I have felt SO good!  Around 6-7 weeks I would wake up every morning expecting to be sick and instead I felt normal.  Its been amazing!  I do have to eat and eat and eat, but as long as I eat I don't feel sick at all.  Just this week I have kind of started feeling a little bit yucky around 8p.m. until I go to sleep, but its really not even that bad at all.   The only thing I really notice is I just cant keep up on my house like I used to.  I don't really feel tired but I must be because my house looks like no mom lives here.  I've also been awful at making dinner, I guess I just have no ambition/energy.  So I'm hoping some of that energy comes back, because my house is about to drive me crazy!

I've also not cared to tell anyone this time.  Its horrible! I've had to force myself to tell family members, its so strange.  I guess its just some of my crazy hormones not wanting the extra attention or something.... I don't know.  So if this is your first time hearing the news, then don't take it personal... I'm just crazy.

Sailyr and Finley have been so fun to share this with!  They are so cute and protective over their baby already.  They always ask me if the baby likes whatever it is I'm eating.  They also tell me to open my mouth so they can talk into my mouth and they baby will hear them. :) I told them the baby could probably just hear them through my tummy, but they insist that I open my mouth!  They also are super careful with they sit or lay by me, always making sure they are careful with my tummy.  Sailyr is just dying to know if its a boy or a girl, she drew picture of a boy a few times before she knew I was pregnant... but now when someone asks her if its a boy or girl she isn't so sure.  She asked me if we could pray to heavenly father and ask him if it was a boy or a girl.
She also talks about names all the time! And I'm pretty sure she has told the entire town of Rigby.
Finley knows whats happening, but she is not planning things out like Sailyr is.  But when she sits by me she likes to talk about "your baby in your tummy".  She is super sweet about it and I can tell she is excited!

I'm excited!  But also a little nervous... kind of like when I was pregnant with Sailyr and I just did not know what to expect.  Even though its my 3rd baby, I think this anxiousness comes from knowing how much work this is going to be.  :)  That's horrible to say but I'm nervous.  I also don't know if I'm convinced its a boy... I would love a boy for Devin, but its a foreign concept to me. And I'm in such girl mode that  I'm kind of thinking its another girl!

Either way we are really just hoping for a healthy baby.
